Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to a two-year contract with Al Nassr after his contract with Manchester United was amicably ended. Ronaldo said, "I had numerous options in Europe, Brazil, Australia, the United States, and even Portugal, but I committed my word to this club."
Cristiano Ronaldo claims he made a commitment to Al Nassr despite receiving numerous offers from other clubs across the globe, as the former Manchester United attacker was formally introduced by the Saudi Arabian team on Tuesday.
Ronaldo arrived in the Middle East on Monday and underwent a medical before his official presentation the following day. With a two-year contract, he is now the highest-paid football player in the world.
The 37-year-old was welcomed by a rowdy 25,000-person throng at Mrsool Park in Riyadh as eager spectators took in an amazing light show before his introduction.
"I am extremely honored to make this huge decision in my life," Ronaldo stated at a press conference before entering the field in front of his new home fans.
"My job is done in Europe." It's a new challenge for me now that I've won everything.
I'm appreciative that Al Nassr gave me this chance, not just for football but also for the younger generation and the female generation.
"This is a challenge for me, but I'm really thrilled and quite proud."
"I had a lot of possibilities in Europe, Brazil, Australia, the United States, and even Portugal, where many clubs sought to sign me, but I made a commitment to this club."
With my knowledge and experience, there is a great opportunity to advance several significant topics.
Ronaldo, who reportedly earns more than £160 million annually, might make his professional debut on Thursday against Saudi Pro-League team Al Ta'ee or on Saturday against Al Shabab.
"I'm a unique player," Ronaldo continued. I broke every European record. There are a couple records here that I wish to break.
"This deal is unique, but because I am a unique player, it is typical for me." I don't really give a damn about what people think. To be here makes me incredibly pleased.
"I watched numerous games, so I am aware of how competitive the league is." If there is a chance, the coach feels I might play after Wednesday. I'm ready to continue playing football.
In an explosive televised interview, Ronaldo stated that he felt betrayed by Manchester United and did not respect their Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, which led to the forward's departure from the Old Trafford club last month.
After a dazzling tenure at Real Madrid from 2009 to 2018, where he won four Champions League crowns, two La Liga championships, two Spanish Cups, and three Club World Cups, the Portugal international lands in Saudi Arabia with a sizable collection of club honors.
He kept scoring for Real, setting a club record with 451 goals and ending his career with more than 800 goals for the club and country.
Before returning to United, where he had already won three Premier League championships, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner added two Serie A titles and a Coppa Italia trophy to his resume.
